It’s a funny old game!

My Armies

Here you will find details of the armies i have used in the past and am using now.

Dark Elves

Dark Elves were my first WFB army.  When i first picked them up you could have Witch Elf Hag’s on Manticore’s and Dark Riders could Fire and Flee.  I played with them for years and took them to my first events as a Dragon Slayer,  evenutally moving on to another army but always returning to the Druchii in the end.   I have over 10,000 points of Dark Elves including models from the last 3 editions.  With the release of the new book i have returned to them and have started painting a new force seeing as my painting ability has improved over the years.

The current army i am using is the one i took to the GT Heat 1 and Teeside.  I have a Lv4, 2x lv2′s, 2 rxb units, 1 warrior unit, 2 harpies, 1 dark riders, 2 shades 2 bolt throwers a hydra and an assassin.  In games above 2000 pts i also include a mounted BSB.

I took a monster army to Cardiff Carnage, it had a dragon, manticore, 2 hydras + 2 chariots made from Hydras.  The speed and hitting power more than makes up for the total lack of magic.

Lizardmen

I bought my lizardman army shortly after starting attending tournaments regularly,  i started out with the slann but soon found that the oldblood list was much more fun,  I played with my lizards throught 2006 and the summer of 2007.

Skaven

I picked up my skaven army cheap on ebay with no real intention of doing much with it.  I got it painted quickly but soon found that it was great fun to use.  That year the sheffield slaughter was 2300 points and i decided to take all the nasty toys but play them in the way that it was intended.  I used 4 warplock Engineers, 4 ratling Guns, 20 Jezzails, 2 cannons and a crap load of Rats.  I always rolled at least 3 dice on the gun’s, used all my warpstone tokens as soon as possible and shot into combat as much as possible.  In one game a threw 5 dice at a rattler!  That version of the army was fun but short lived,  i tried out a more sensible and balanced army but found it boring. Eventually i moved onto a ranked Clan Eshin army led by a fellblade weilding Master Assassin.  That was a good laugh but only had 1 trick.  By far the best Skaven army i used was the one i took to the GT.  Its not really suitable for the normal tournament scene but fits into the GT’s just right.  Seer, 3 engineers, 3 rattlers, 2 cannons, 100 clanrats, 100 slaves, 4x 2 globadieers, 4x 5 night runers, 3x 3 gutter runners, 15 Plague monks.  Brutal!

Wood Elves

I always hated playing against Wood Elves in 6th edition, added to the fact that everyone seemed to have them they never really appealed to me.  I picked up the army at the end of 2007 and painted them over christmas,  I was happy to use them once the bandwagon had passed and soon got into the swing with them.  I have played them all this year up until the release of the new Dark Elf book and am still playing with them now.  The list i used for most of the year was;  Lv4, BSB, 3x 8 Dryads, 3x 10 Glade Guard, 5 Glade riders, 2x 7 wardancers, 2x 5 wild riders, treeman, way watchers.   With the release of Deamons and Dark Elves i’ve made a few changes,  the lv4 and treeman got dropped and i added a highborn on egale, an eagle for the BSB, a scroll caddy and an alter noble.  i also squeezed in a 2nd unit of glade riders.
